Sgt. David Lee Rector, passed away at the age of 73. Born August 7, 1950, in Lakewood, and was a lifelong member of Lakehurst, NJ. Born to Barbara L. Fulk and Keith M. Rector. As a child he attended Lakehurst Public Schools, before attending Central Regional High School. 

Drafted in 1970 he served as an MP for the Army to the end of 1971, re-enlisting as an engineer in the Army Reserves and starting a family and career in all phases of construction, masonry, and carpentry. After Desert Shield/Storm he continued to work using his specialization in roofing, gutters, and siding, where he retired from Twin Roofing and Siding to spend more time with grandchildren.

Dave was a devoted father and grandfather and was a friend to everyone. Dave was predeceased by his parents Keith and Barbara and by his siblings James, Linda, Donald Darrell, Michael, George, Timothy, and Diane. Dave is survived by 2 sons Jeremy Rector and his wife, Leanne of Lakehurst, Tim Myers and his wife, Stephanie of Jackson, 2 daughters Jessica Worth and her husband Jonathan of Lakehurst, Shannon Carisdeo and her husband John of Jackson, his sister Kathie Rector of Canada, 8 grandchildren Autumn, Ashleah, Cheyenne, Hailey, Allura, Emma-Lee, Jacob, and Ethan. 

David dutifully served his family, friends, community, God, and country, until his death on Oct. 6th, 2023, in his home state of New Jersey. Interment with Military Honors 11am Saturday October 14, 2023, at Riverside Cemetery, Toms River.
