Phyllis Mulhall, 87, of Toms River passed away peacefully at her home on September 9, 2024.  Born in the down-neck section of Newark, she met the love of her life literally right around the corner from where she grew up.  Tom predeceased her in 2013 after being married for 56 years.  Together they created a beautiful family.

Phyllis resided in Menlo Park Terrace, Woodbridge Twp before moving to Holiday City South in Toms River over 26 years ago.  She belonged to the Shuffleboard, Bocce and many other clubs, led an exercise class at the club house for many years, and enjoyed playing cards and games.

Together, Phyllis and Tom enjoyed nothing more than vacationing with their children, especially at the beach. Her family was everything to her.  Phyllis and Tom enjoyed their retirement years together and travelled extensively.

Phyllis had a big heart and most often expressed her love through food and preparing her home for the holidays. All were welcome in her house and there was always room for one more at the dinner table.  She also was a talented woman with her arts and crafts, and she loved spending time with her faithful dog, Lucky.

Surviving Phyllis is her son Tom and wife Tee of Richmond, VT; two daughters Patricia Needham and husband Floyd of Howell, NJ; Kelly Kanis and husband Craig of Jackson, NJ.    She leaves behind her grandchildren Laura and her husband Ryan, Kevin and his wife Allison, Emma, and Jack. Her four great grandchildren will also miss their “great nanny”.

There will be no public service, but private memorial will take place in the future.
