Steven J. Szucs, a beloved figure and a proud Marine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 93.
Born in Edgewater, New Jersey, Steven dedicated many years of his life to working as a driver for Teamsters Local 817 in Great Neck, NY. After a fulfilling career, he retired and moved to Toms River, NJ seven years ago.
A true patriot, Steven proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, his daughter, Sally, his brother, Alex, and his sister, Mary. Steven is survived by his cherished daughter, Susan Szucs, his loving granddaughter Alicia Barker, her fiancé, Nicholas Hennings, his precious great-granddaughter, Nicolette Hennings, and his step grandson Bobby.
Known affectionately as “Pop” by those closest to him, Steven cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially his great-granddaughter. He also found joy in shopping, telling stories about his career with the Sopranos, and simply enjoying life’s little pleasures.
A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at a later date.
As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us remember the life he lived, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind.
