Dolores “Dee” M. Maher, 82, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Dee devoted 40 years of her career to the Lakehurst Navy Base Exchange and the base movie theater before retiring in 2008. Born in Orange, NJ, she grew up in Union and later made Lakehurst her home. In 2013, she relocated to Whiting.

Dee was an active member of the Lakehurst Historical Society and a faithful member and usher at the Cathedral of the Air Church, where she served for many years.

She was predeceased by her sister, Roberta Bahr, and her nephew, Kenneth Bahr. Dee leaves behind her loving daughter, Shawnare Maher Pierson, and husband Steven; her cherished grandchildren; her sister Arline Lloyd; as well as several extended family members and many dear friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Aristacare Whiting and VNA Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Dee. A special expression of gratitude is offered to her devoted friends, Pam and Wayne, whose love and support meant so much to her and to all who loved her. Burial will take place 11:30am Monday, December 15, 2025, at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
