Laura A. Danis, 60, of Stafford Twp. passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Laura was an administrative assistant for the I.R.S., Fairfield. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Garfield before moving to Stafford Twp. 14 years ago.
Laura enjoyed reading and loved animals, politics and music. Laura was predeceased by her father Gus Danis in 2016.
Laura is survived by her mother Audrey Danis of Stafford Twp., her sister Melanie Cassitta and her husband, Robert of Weston, FL, her nephew Alexander, her niece Isabella, her aunt and godmother Arlene Heiser and her cats Beau and Jax.
Memorial gathering Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11am-1pm at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Interment will take place privately at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
Everyone is invited to join the family immediately following the service at Italy’s Best, 652 Route 70, Lakehurst.

Sending our sympathy on the passing of Laura. She was a kind, compassionate lady who loved her cats, Beau and Jax. Laura was concerned for the welfare of stray cats. She and Audrey faithfully helped our shelter (Homeless Animal Adoption League) with their donations. We are grateful to them, but sad for the family, who surely miss Laura.
