Dorothy Buchko, better known as Dolly, 63, of Manchester Twp. passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, after a long battle against a lung disease.  Born in Point Pleasant, she resided in South Toms River before moving to Manchester Twp. 50 years ago.  Dolly was a fixture at her family’s campground, Timberland Lake Campground, in Jackson, where she was affectionately known as “The Boss.”  Dolly considered many of the campers there as family, and especially enjoyed watching the kids along with their families make lasting memories. Dolly was instrumental in founding “TLC Cares-Campers Helping Campers,” a fundraising group that raises money for families experiencing medical difficulties.  She will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her heart for children, her love of hosting family at the holidays, and her fighting spirit.

Dolly was predeceased by her parents, Robert, and Dorothy Jeffers; brother Robert Jeffers, nephew Michael (Mike) Jeffers, and in 2023, son-in-law, George Johnson Jr.

Dolly is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Buchko, two daughters, Tammy Buchko and Michelle Jeffers and fiance’ Bobby ; brother Michael Jeffers and sister-in-law Kathy of Manchester, sister-in-law Bonnie Jeffers of Manchester, sister Jodi Jeffers and brother-in-law Jack of Forked River; 4 grandchildren Dennis, Desiree, Aubrey and Nathan; two sisters-in-law Doris and Denise Caianiello; nieces and nephews Bobby and Sarah, Nicole and Rory, Tommy, Jamie and Ryan, Jason and Nina, Gennaro and Chrissy, Lacee and Anthony, and Robert and Alyssa; and great nieces and nephews Julianne, Owen, Luke, Malik, Jorryn, Meadow, Jaxson, Gavin, Kendall, Brayden, Dominic, and Alessia; along with many dear friends who were like family.

At Dolly’s request, there will be no public funeral or memorial service at this time.
