Edward A. Rodriguez, age 96, of Whiting, passed away at home on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Edward dedicated many years of service to Western Electric in Kearny before his retirement, after which he continued to contribute his skills to TTS in Staten Island, NY for a decade. Born in the Bronx, NY, Edward spent much of his life in Staten Island before moving to Whiting in 1993.

A proud veteran, Edward served in the Merchant Marines for two years, embracing his role with honor and commitment. Deeply engaged in his community, he was an active member of the Cedar Glen Lakes golf club and freely gave his time to assist others, providing rides to medical appointments and helping residents with their housing needs. His spirit of volunteerism extended to Wagner College in Staten Island, where he supported the football team.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved daughter Eydie Rodriguez, his son-in-law William (Bill) Melendez, and his sisters Blanche Pabon and Josephine DelGaudio. He is survived by his devoted wife Alice of 48 years; daughters Beverly Redondo and her husband Al, Valerie Melendez, Lauretta Pignato and her husband Robert, Cynthia Benedict and her husband Gary; his sisters Carmen Rondinelli; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst.
