John J. Bruno, Jr., 77, of Toms River passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. John was a boiler operator for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for 31 years before retiring in 2014. John was born and raised in Kearny and resided in Whiting before moving to Toms River 28 years ago. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and received 3 Bronze Stars. John belonged to the bowling club of Silver Ridge. He was an avid Giants fan and enjoyed working and loved spending time with his grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife Anna, of 54 years. His sons Michael and his wife, Sheila of Toms River, Joseph and his wife, Nicole of Robbinsville, his brother Bill of Vancouver, WA, 3 grandchildren Keara, Michael, and Harper. Interment will take place privately at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project or Shriners Hospital for Children.
