Richard S. Hafner, Sr., 76, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester Twp. passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at home. Richard owned and operated Wakefern Food Corp. for many years before retiring. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Lakewood before moving to Manchester Twp. five years ago. Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. Richard was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood. Richard enjoyed boat, truck, and car racing. Richard is survived by his wife Roseann, of fifty-eight years, his son Richard S. Hafner, Jr. and his wife, Laura Jacobus of Chalfont, PA, his daughter Theresa Gonzalez of Brick, his sister Barbara Plantain of Staten Island, NY. Two grandchildren Lily Hafner, and Anthony Gonzalez. Interment with military honors 11:30am Monday, March 31, 2025, at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
