Stefan Olkowski, 92, of Lakewood passed away Friday December 29, 2023. Stefan spent 40 years building custom homes for his company Timberlane Homes in Ocean County. Born in Przasnysz, Poland, he came to the United States in 1947 and lived in Plainfield, NJ, Van Nuys, CA, Brick, NJ before moving to Lakewood in 1987. As a child, Stefan survived three fronts of war in Poland during WWII and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Stefan lived an honest life, was a hard-working husband and father and had a mind to figure things out. He enjoyed furniture restoration and loved playing games like Chinese Checkers, especially winning. Stefan was predeceased by his wife Melita. Stefan is survived by three daughters, Agnes Manganelli and her husband, David of Vero Beach, FL, Veronica Levy and her husband, Larry of Greenbrae, CA, Olivia Olkowski of NYC, his brother Johnny Olkowski of Toms River, two sisters Helen Ivanowski of NJ, Hania Kadash of FL, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial gathering 11:30am-1:30pm Friday January 19, 2024, at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C.
