Richard S. Dillon, 61, of Manchester Twp. passed away Monday, July 6, 2026.

Some of his life experiences are listed below:

In his 8 years of Koei-Kan training under Sensei Edward Kaloudis in Clifton NJ, he won 2 trophies in tournament competition against other martial art schools.

He achieved life guard credentials after passing all the swimming levels in the YMCA of Passaic, NJ.

He was on a little league team for four years as a pitcher and he later played high school football in Clifton, NJ.

After graduation he became an apprentice in a masonry company. After learning the trade he travelled for construction projects in NJ, WV, TX, and OK.

His hobbies included fishing and playing the drums in a band with his friends.

During his life he traveled to Amman, Jordan. While there he toured Petra, Mount Nebo, Jerash, The Old City, The Baptism site of Jesus, and swam in the Dead Sea.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Jack A. Dillon. Richard is survived by his mother, Scarlett Thomas and her husband, George of Manchester Twp., his brother, Jack R. Dillon and his wife, Marlene of Toms River, and two nieces, Maryann and Christina. Interment will take place at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson at a later date.
