Major Gary A. Valencia, 57, of Manchester Twp. passed away Monday, September 21, 2026. Gary was a military contractor for Chenega Blackwater Solutions. Gary was born in Manila, Philippines, and came to the United States in 1971 to Rahway, NJ. He resided in Manchester Twp., and Japan for 12 years until recently relocating to Whiting.

Gary proudly served in the U.S. Army Special Forces and had an extensive military career joining the Army Reserves and National Guard. He was fluent in five languages and was an interpreter while in Japan.

Gary is survived by his parents Jerry & Rosa Fe Valencia, of Manchester Twp, 2 brothers: Dennis M. Valencia, and Allen J. Valencia, both of Manchester Twp.
