William H. (Bill) Sperling, 80, of Leisure Village West, Manchester Twp. passed away Monday August 10, 2026, at home. Bill owned and operated Sperling Limo & Car Service, Long Branch for many years before retiring. Born in Hackensack, he resided in New Milford and Long Branch before moving to Manchester Twp. in 2025.
Bill was a car and truck enthusiast. He loved to work and enjoyed the camaraderie of the people he worked with. Bill also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, boating and being on the water.
Bill was predeceased by his brother Timothy Sperling and sister Valerie Kruegel. Bill is survived by his loving wife Linda of 59 ½ years, his daughters Christine Anderson and her husband, Robert of Manchester Twp., Jill McCloud and her husband, David of Pemberton, Stephanie Bonetto and her husband, William of Matawan, his grandchildren Gabriella, David, Alexis, Jake, Dylan, and his greatgrandchildren DJ, and Paisley.
Services are private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bill’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Tunnel to Towers.
We have so many wonderful memories of our families being together. Bill (or as Dad used to call him “William”) holds a special place in our hearts. We grieve with you and send our love. He will be missed.
To all of Bill’s family, Linda his loving wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren…you have lost a wonderful person in your life but we know he will now be watching over all of you from above and that his love will never die.

We are very saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. Even sadder that we lost touch over the years. Bill was a giant of a man and the world has lost an important person. Memories of Bill.Many of our Class of 65 persons could be known by the moniker “Gearheads”,because we loved cars and messing around with them.Bill stayed in the transportation industry as part of that love.Would like to share that Bill and his Dad were owner operators,owning up to 9 trucks working real hard for Wakefern Corp hauling groceries for Shop Rite in the day.I would ride along with Bill to help out on the long hard days back when drivers amazingly unloaded their trucks.It never stopped Bill and l could never acquire the skills to drive those behemoths anywhere near his smooth method.Never saw Bill really upset with anyone and all our group enjoyed being with him.A memory of Bill,God Bless Linda and the family
Dear Linda & Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Billy. Though I haven’t seen him in many years I have found memories of him when I lived in New Milford on Shea Drive and he lived right a few houses away.. I was there a lot at their house meeting up with Valerie always seeing his dad and his mom either at the front door on their porch.
