Annette Black, 90, of Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting passed away Saturday July 4 2026, at Alcoeur Gardens Toms River. Annette was foremost a wife and mother but worked at St Peter’s Medical Center and most recently the NJ Museum of Agriculture.
She enjoyed playing cards and Mahjong with friends at CGL. She was very active with many of the groups there and was always helping friends and neighbors.
Annette is predeceased by her husband Carl in 2001, sisters Rita and Louise. She is survived by her children Suzanne Black DVM, husband Edward Schoene DVM, Arthur Black, wife Jill Sargeant, and Sharon Black, grandchildren Betsy Lawrie and husband Zachary, Molly Lashway and husband Stephen, and Carly Price, 3 great grandchildren Lillian & Leo Lawrie and Richard Lashway
A celebration of life will be held at the Cedar Glen Lakes Clubhouse on Sunday August 23 from noon-3. Please bring a dish to pass, (non alcoholic) beverages and coffee will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette’s memory may be made to American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) at afmda.org
On behalf of the NJ Museum of Agriculture family, we all cherished our time working with Annette. And yo nourish the friendships made outside of work as well. She will be missed.

Cory and I are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my aunt Annette. Aunt Annette was a wonderful person and her warmth and kindness will be missed by everyone who knew her. She took care of me and my brother for 2 years while my parents finished a job assignment in Puerto Rico. During that time. we were both able to finish high school in New Jersey in an accredited school to prepare for college. During those 2 years with Aunt Annette, I became very close to the entire family, including Susie, Sharon and Arthur and my uncle Carl. Uncle Carl and his brother Ellwood, took me under their wings in their cabinet shop and taught me the profession of making custom cabinets.My brother Paul and I will always carry those special memories with us. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
